Chu is breaking out this season as DOR's best player and top offensive option. He was quiet in the 1st half, but ignited in the 2nd, scoring 19 of his game-high 24 pts to close out DYN.

Runner-Up: Askia Davis (SHH) 34 pts, 8 reb, 5 blk
The Sam Lo Award for Hustlers

Will Haile (DYN) 18 reb, 1 stl, 3 blk

Even with DYN's ups and downs as a team, they can always count on Haile to leave everything on the court. And he always does it so quietly.

Runner-Up: Andy So (BLM) 14 reb, 2 stl
Wat Misaka Defensive Player of the Week

Askia Davis (SHH) 8 reb, 1 stl, 5 blk

This was a blowout from very early on but give credit to Davis who never slacked on D anyway. He made sure SHH won this won running away.

Runner-Up: Will Chu (DOR) 1 reb, 7 stl
The High-5 Club

David Weiss (DOR) 7-6-4-2-1

Spot Dessert Bar™ Rookie of the Week

G. O'Garro (WAR) 10 pts, 8 reb, 4 blk

The WAR rookie has been hot and cold offensively, but O'Garro is going to be a defensive presence in every game with his length & athleticism.

Runner-Up: Evan Majzner (SXB) 12 pts, 9 reb, 4 stl
The "John Starks" Award

David Weiss (DOR) | 3-14 FGs (.214)

The former MVP's shot has not been consistent, he's been prone to follow a good game with a bad one every week. DOR keeps winning anyway.

Dishonorable Mention: D. Ferguson (70S) 2-11 FGs
The "Chris Dudley" Award

Al Chen (DYN) | 2-6 FTs (.333)

Down the stretch DOR closed out the Dynasty, but they sure could've used these FTs to answer hold them off. Chen otherwise shot well.

Dishonorable Mention: None worth mentioning

Fall 2014 1st Division Power Rankings - Week 4
Rank Team Record
Team Notes
1. (+1)

BLM

(4-0)

Perhaps the most interesting part of Bloomberg's success is that they tried this approach last season: small ball + aggressive defense + lots of 3's to terrible results. This season, the system fits like a glove. But, it won't get any easier as their only big (C) Zheng Zeng is now done for the season.
2. (-1)

SXB

(3-1)

The defending champions took a short-handed loss, but that doesn't change anything yet. They are still very much a candidate to repeat. This is a team with a ton of depth and veteran leadership.
3. (=)

DOR

(3-1)

Doris From Rego Park has really only played three games with their last win coming on a forfeit. They only looked bad vs SXB, and they barely lost that one. Also a sort of defending champion--they took a season off after winning the chip in spring--Doris is to be taken as no less than a contender.
4. (=)

DYN

(2-2)

From here down we have the dark horses. Dynasty has quickly built chemistry despite the number of FAs on the roster. (F) Will Haile & (F) Kareem Merrick lead the way with great defense and transition play. Their half-court offense is their biggest ?. They will need (G) Ren Hsieh to step up to make a jump.
5. (=)

70S

(2-2)

Seventies were impressive in a win over DYN, but we can't bump them up yet. That was the only game in which they've looked good all season. We'll wait and see if this group is consistent enough to form a cohesive unit.
6. (-1)

WAR

(1-2)

New additions (F) George O'Garro and (F) Will Brocker have suddenly made the Warriors very interested--as has (G) Peter Edelson's growing comfort level with the team. But, they have all played together only once this season. Time is running out for them put this together.
7. (-1)

SHH

(0-3)

Still the most disappointing team of the season. Good news is there is light at the end of the abyss. They just played the Top 3 teams in D-1. A tough stretch for anyone, and the combined record of everyone else is 5-10.
8. (=)

TOP

(0-4)

It's going to take some serious cards to fall in all the right places for the Top Stars to sneak into the playoffs now. It's been a tough season with a very inconsistent roster. Hopefully, they can salvage something here.
Observations... Miguel Melbourne's assist-TO ratio... Marlon Santos & Matija Petrovic... or Will Haile & Kareem Merrick... Bloomberg has five players scoring in double figures... Shhmurda team is shooting 40% for the season but win-less... "El Regalo" would be a good addition... Miguel Melbourne is aka "Mighty Mite"... Steve Chung is aka "Machine Gun" aka "Fully Automatic"
