Pos: G Ht: 6-2, Ht: 185 lbs

With no (G) Gino Calderon or (C) Reid Wittman in the lineup, Glover was left alone with a group of (very capable) role players to try to gut out a win. He was up to the task and so was GMM.

Runner-Up: Seamus McKiernan (DYN) 26 pts, 17 reb
The Sam Lo Award for Hustlers

L. Glover (GMM) 11 reb, 3 stl, 2 blk

A short-handed GMM left Glover the tallest player on the roster. He had to play all five positions at some point during the win. A gutsy effort.

Runner-Up: Shaun Crummy (70S) 11 reb, 2 blk
Wat Misaka Defensive Player of the Week

S. McKiernan (DYN) 17 reb, 3 blk

It wasn't the most visually dominant performance, but his active presence in the paint shut it down for TOP who was restricted to the perimeter.

R-Up: Landon Glover (GMM) 11 reb, 3 stl, 2 blk
The High-5 Club

Landon Glover (GMM) 29-11-6-3-2

Geoff Weinberg (TRS) 9-7-3-1-2

Spot Dessert Bar™ Rookie of the Week

D. Weissbourd (TRS) 14 pts, 5 reb

Weissbourd had largely been quiet in the reg season, avg just 4 ppg, but he was on fire in the 1st half vs GMM, keeping his team within reach.

Runner-Up: E. Van Slyke (DYN) 9 pts, 9 ast, 3 stl
The John Starks Award

Dan Chung (TOP) | 3-14 FG (.214)

The Top Stars came in short-handed, and with DYN (C) Seamus McKiernan defending the paint, there weren't many easy baskets in this one.

Dishonorable Mention: B. Anderson (70S) 3-11 FGs
The Chris Dudley Award

None worth mentioning.

(4) Guard Me Maybe [-2]
(5) Team RS

Saturday (11/14) 1:00pm @ MLK HS

Guard Me Maybe won the regular season match-up against a very short handed Team RS, but the key here will be whether (C) Reid Wittman is available. With him in the pivot, GMM has the size to battle TRS in the paint. If not, the TRS bigs might very well overwhelm GMM.

The strengths of each team, however, are in there perimeter play. GMM (G) Gino Calderon and (G) Landon Glover might be the best duo in D-1 right now, but TRS (G) Steven Mitchell has stepped up lately. Count on (F) Richard Schuler's consistently effective mid-range game.

(3) That 70s Team [-3]
(6) Unholy Alliance

Saturday (11/14) 2:00pm @ MLK HS

These two teams had this same exact match-up in the Spring 2015 playoffs and UNH got the upset. This time UNH has almost an entirely new line-up, but the focal point is the same, (G) Courteney Tabron. If he can get it going, they can beat anyone.

But 70S has their own secret weapon finally healthy again, (G) Shaun Crummy, who's every bit as lethal on offense and defense as Tabron. This should be the most entertaining match-up of the 1st rd, but if (F) Matija Petrovic gets it going, 70S may hold off the upset this time.
(2) NY Dynasty [-5]
(7) Top Stars

Saturday (11/14) 3:00pm @ MLK HS

This isn't the same NY Dynasty that won the chip last year. This team hasn't had the same consistency as the previous incarnation (esp with attendance), but they do have the best offensive big man in D-1 in (F) Seamus McKiernan. Except them to go to him an awful lot.

The Top Stars are basically the same team they have been for the last couple of years. They didn't make much noise except that they almost (and probably should have) beat DYN in the season opener. If they can get that magic back, well, you just never know.
