Since a quiet debut, James has put up no less than 21 pts, 16 reb in any game since. His 27 pts here is a season-high. No big has controlled the paint better than James this season.

Runner-Up: Brad Adelman (REN) 23 pts, 13 reb
The Sam Lo Award for Hustlers

Eric White (REN) 16 reb, 6 ast, 4 stl

White didn't shoot particularly well, but he put his all-around game on display against a short-handed, and undersized IVC lineup.

Runner-Up: Dez James (ROC) 21 reb, 4 stl, 5 blk
Wat Misaka Defensive Player of the Week

Dez James (ROC) 21 reb, 4 stl, 5 blk

Not only did James score at will in the painted area, he also dominated on the defensive end. There were no easy baskets vs ROC in Week 7.

Runner-Up: Josh Krapf (WAR) 10 reb, 1 stl, 7 blk

Spot Dessert Bar™ Rookie of the Week

Jason Durecout (ROC) 33 pts, 9 3FGs

Durecout's 33 pts ensures that he will finish the season as the league's top scorer at 27 ppg. He also made a league-high 30 3FGs in the process.

R-Up: Brad Adelman (REN) 23 pts, 13 reb, 3 ast
The "John Starks" Award

D. Cunning. (NYC) | 2-16 FGs (.125)

WAR's defense can be a tough and feisty one. The rookie Cunningham is one of NYCE's better players, but this was not his night.

Dishonorable Mention: Justin Chin (IVC) 4-15 FGs
The "Chris Dudley" Award

None worth mentioning

Nobody was terrible from the FT line in Week 7. Good job league.

2K14 SUM Week 6 Power RankingsFBNYC, 8.14.14

Summer 2014 1st Division Power Rankings - Week 6
Rank Team Record
Team Notes
1. (+1)

NGC

(5-1)

After a tough loss to ROC, the Gritty have bounced back to win two straight, albeit against win-less teams. Nevertheless, this looks like the team to beat even if they're not always that convincing.
2. (+1)

IVC

(4-1)

Again this season, the Caps have a stacked roster. But, that doesn't always guarantee a chip--just see last season. And, they did take a loss from NGC in Week 3. Still, they have more than enough tools to win it all.
3. (+1)

70S

(4-1)

The Seventies could have had a shot at no. 1 after four straight wins, but the news of (F) Matija Petrovic's absence for the rest of the season & playoffs was enough to drop them to 3. (F) Marlon Santos will have to step in, but he is used to doing the heavy lifting for a team.
4. (-3)

ROC

(4-1)

This no. 4 ranking is more an indication of having only one game during this stretch while other teams surged ahead. The Rockstars are still very much in the mix, and while still unproven as a playoff winner, they have the talent to go deep into the post-season, perhaps even win it all.
5. (+1)

SXB

(3-2)

The Bears can be hot and cold, but they have won three straight, and it looks like they've developed some chemistry. They seem best when they can run & gun, as a big win vs ROC should confirm. But, still a lot of questions here.
6. (-1)

REN

(3-2)

This is a team of overachievers led by two dynamic go-to players in (F) Matt Troja and (G) Eric White. The Renaissance Men have enough tools to be a dark horse in this playoff race. If Troja stays hot, who knows.
7. (=)

DEM

(1-4)

The roster for Dem Boyz has been all over the place, and consistency has been a real issue. At this point, they can't add anyone else, they just have to get enough players to qualify for playoffs, then hope for the best.
8. (+1)

NYC

(0-6)

This NYCE team has the tools to win games, they just haven't put it all together yet. Getting (G) Quy Nguyen was a solid addition. He's got a motor, like teammate (G) Ben Lev. With that backcourt, NYCE could be good for an upset or two. They just have to take better shots, and control their TOs.
9. (-1)

WAR

(0-6)

Yet another disappointing season for the Warriors. If it were not for every team making the playoffs, they wouldn't. Offense has been the problem for this team, especially with (F) Seung Lim struggling with his shot. They can still play spoiler for a team, but a deep playoff run is a lot to ask.
Observations... Seventies losing Petro is tough... two NYCE players lead the league in TOs... no. 4 is also NYCE... that's no bueno... rookie race is a doozy... and MVP... weeknights aren't the same as weekends huh Seung? ...we feel your pain... Matt Troja aka "Chitwood Mac"... Eric White aka "Cruise Control"... Joe Vines aka "Big Trouble in Little China"
