Winter 2015 Week 7 Power RankingsFBNYC, 3.13.15

Winter 2015 1st Division Power Rankings - Week 7
Rank Team Record
Team Notes
1. (+2)

DYN

(5-1)

Slow and steady wins the race, Team Dynasty has improved with every game as they remain committed to defense and spreading the wealth on offense. This is a team full of veterans who are starting to hit their stride. They aren't without their weaknesses, but for now, the system is working.
2. (+2)

SXB

(4-2)

The Sexy Bears may keep DYN's reign short-lived as they will play each other this Saturday. The physical Bears are a difficult match-up for the finesse Dynasty. No other team has their power in the paint, and now their shooters are starting to make those open 3FGs.
3. (-1)

TAS

(4-2)

After two difficult losses, the Agents bounced back with a huge win over then no. 1 ranked DOR. They beat them straight up, and they did it with their now typical barrage of 3FGs, and key defensive plays when it counted most.
4. (-3)

DOR

(4-2)

Doris looked like they had an opportunity to finish the season undefeated until these last two weeks. We'll give them a flyer for the loss to TOP, but they looked vulnerable against TAS. Sustained pressure on defense isn't the problem, it's doing the same on offense.
5. (=)

ADG

(3-3)

Now the Gamblers have also lost two in a row, and though they remain in the driver's set for a playoff bid, they've open the door for any teams looking to make a late run. They'll have to finish strong.
6. (=)

WAR

(2-4)

All the Warriors have to do is make the playoffs. It's not much different than last season. Their particular set of skills were made for post-season. Oh, and they'll need (F) George O'Garro in the lineup, too. Let's not get carried away.
7. (+2)

70S

(2-4)

The Seventies are very quietly staying alive with (G) Shaun Crummy at the helm. But, they will have to somehow mesh with (F) Matija Petrovic, who has been in and out of the lineup. If they can sneak into the playoffs, they will be a tough out for any team.
8. (=)

TOP

(2-5)

With a huge win last week, the Top Stars kept themselves in contention for a playoff berth. As mentioned, if they can get consistent scoring from (G) Ben Perkins and (F) Kieran Brennan, this is a team with weapons. And, new add (F) TJ Carey looks like just the kind of play-maker they needed.
9. (-2)

BLM

(2-5)

Last season, a lack of depth knocked Bloomberg out of the playoffs, and this season the same problem looks like it will keep them out of the post-season altogether. Maybe Bloomberg contends only every other season?

Santos hasn't put up the usual flashy #s
this winter as it seems he's bought into DYN's share the ball system, but he came up big in a short-handed win vs champs WAR. Equally impressive was his commitment to both sides of the ball.

R-Up: Dee Ferguson (70S) 19 pts, 5 3FGs, 14 reb
The Sam Lo Award for Hustlers

S. Crummy (70S) 18pts, 12reb, 6ast

Crummy helped keep the Seventies in the playoff hunt with this solid all around performance. His dedication to the boards was noticeable.

Runner-Up: Evan Majzner (SXB) 8 reb, 1 stl, 3 blk
Wat Misaka Defensive Player of the Week

Will Haile (DYN) 8 reb, 3 stl, 4 blk

Facing one of 1st Div's bigger teams with no true (C), it was up to Haile to step up on defense. He did just that with another strong defensive line.

R-Up: Miguel Melbourne (BLM) 3 reb, 4 stl, 1 blk
The High-5 Club

Will Brocker (WAR) 11-9-3-1-1
Jordan Calhoun (DOR) 18-13-2-2-1

Spot Dessert Bar™ Rookie of the Week

Richard Schuler (ADG) 22 pts, 4 reb

Schuler had the jumper going early in this game, and help keep ADG in the game with (F) Erik Jerrard out of the lineup. It just wasn't enough.

Runner-Up: TJ Carey (TOP) 6 pts, 10 reb, 2 ast
The "John Starks" Award

Tim Small (DOR) | 1-12 FGs (.083)

With their guards out of the line-up, DOR struggled to create open looks. Somebody had to shoot the ball, it just wasn't going down for Small.

Dishonorable Mention: R. Swisher (ADG) 3-13 FGs
The "Chris Dudley" Award

Zheng Zeng (BLM) | 1-6 FTs (.167)

Making some of these early FTs may have helped keep BLM in the game in the 1st half. But, FTs have always been a weakness for Zeng.

Dishonorable Mention: Brett Marfurt (ADG) 1-5 FTs
