Caps rise quickly to contender status

iVentureCap is undefeated and may have the best chemistry in the league

It didn't take long for these guys to gel. They have never played together as a unit but (C) Jiang Yu's team seems to have all the right pieces and none more vital than the late addition of (F) Pat Layton, who seems to be the glue that keeps it all together. This league is still plenty deep, however, and by season's end, this whole list could be upside-down. Caps sure look good, though. -- The Jet

Preview Notes
1. (+2)

IVC

(3-0)

iVentureCap looks like the most balanced team in the league right now, solid bigs and great outside shooters with Layton working everything in between. They seem to have someone new step up every game and sharpshooter (G) Justin Kao hasn't played a game yet.
2. (+2)

DGL

(2-1)

The expansion Doogles lost a tough one in OT to an inspired JBB but they still look like a contender. This team plays physical, old school ball with a solid PG leading the way and a center who shuts down the paint.
3. (+2)

TEC

(2-1)

This team has been surprisingly solid even with (F) Dinsmore Sohn quiet lately. They have a solid front-court with a versatile big in (F) Phil Bausk and a space-eater in (C) PJ Eannotti. Guards fill their roles nicely.
4. (-3)

TRI

(1-2)

The defending champs haven't played particularly well so far this season. (G) Kash Miah has been solid--and really, everyone has done enough to win. They just haven't closed out as well. Miah needs help on offense and they have the personnel to provide.
5. (-3)

QIK

(1-1)

The Quicks have played undersized but have played well. It looks like every game is going to be a barn-burner though with a league that has more overall size than ever before. For a team that takes a lot of 3FGs, they'll have to start hitting a higher percentage.
6. (+1)

JBB

(1-2)

A win over the Doogles moves them up but JBB struggles with faster teams. Luckily, the league is slower this season with more of a focus on bigs on most rosters. (G) John Minutaglio and (C) Glen Castergine have been playing well. (F) RJ Charles is a welcome addition.
7. (-1)

DBS

(1-2)

The Airballers re-dubbed DB Strong have arguably the most talent of any roster in the league. They just need to start closing out games. They gave up significant leads in both their losses.
8.

ROC

(0-2)

Rookie (F) Kevin Farrington is good enough to give the Stars a chance in every game and (C) Matt DelGuidice is solid in the paint. They'll need (G) Jon Keaveny to show up for every game though to help (G) Tom Bello, Jr. The backcourt has gamers but they're thin. at the position.

Observations... no double-digit rebounders this season... so far... Quicks have too many guards, Rock Stars too many forwards, maybe they can execute the first every FBNYC trade... space-eater, huh? ...PJ Eannotti is now aka "Death Eater"... Drew Chen is now aka "Unisex" aka "Purple Bomber" aka "Grape Drank"... since when did Rich Chang become the league's resident trash talker?
