The Legends never gave the DB Airballers any easy looks on Wendesday and Bello led the way with his usual defense and some timely baskets. Using his length to his advantage and an increasingly versatile skill set, Bello led DWL to a solid win.
Runner-Up: James Lam (PHB) 15 pts, 4 rebs, 1 stl
Joel Capili (ABN) F | 6-1 | 190 lbs Week 1 Stats PPG: 18.0 RPG: 10.0 APG: 3.0
In a rare selection from a loss, Capili was key to the Ninjas 20 pt comeback and near win. His hustle and inside-out scoring and certainly All-FBNYC resolve helped ABN make a game out of what should have been a blowout to PHB.

CJ Headley (DWL) 11 rebs, 1 blk
Headley crashed the boards hard in DWL's win vs. DBA. His length caused problems for the Airballers and his hustle made him difficult to box out.

Alex Shu (TXT) 6 rebs, 6 stls
TXT relied on their defense early on and Shu lead the way picking off lazy passes and turning them into easy transition opportunities.

Discorama Rookie of the Week D. Dowdie (DBA) 18 pts, 5 reb, 2 ast
Dowdie struggled early on trying to adjust to the RED league's size, but he was still able to get it going despite missing his 2 other scorers.
Runner-Up: Steve Gallagher (JBB) 12 pts, 8 rebs
The "John Starks" Award John Campo (DBA) | 1-14 FGs (.071)
Can't be too hard on Campo since he was playing with an ankle injury, and at least he was trying to make plays, but 1-14 is still... 1-14.
Dishonorable Mention: Wilson Lew (ABN) 4-15 FGs
The "Chris Dudley" Award Mike Ha (TXT) | 2-8 FTs (.250)
In a game where TXT had the lead, but gave it away late, FTs stood out more than ever. One or two makes could have changed the outcome.

JBB steals one from Thunder
MLK HS, NYC -- Little was known about expansion Team JBB going into this one, but if there is anything that can be taken away from their opening game it's that they don't quit. Oh, and they probably have the deepest bench, including a candidate for the Sixth Man Award in the mix.
The 1st qtr started well for both teams. Even though JBB came out of it with a slight 15-12 lead, neither team had any real advantage. JBB, led by (F) Steve Gallagher's team-high 12 pts, utilized its size well in the paint while the Thunder countered with their speed, getting out and scoring in transition.Read more >>
